The performance is a celebration of the unique spirit and developmental stage of the 4th grader, where curiosity, independence, and courage begin to blossom more fully in each student.
Norse myths are an integral part of the fourth-grade curriculum. These tales, filled with powerful gods, mythical creatures, and epic quests, mirror the inner world of the nine- or ten-year-old child—who is navigating a new sense of individuality and growing awareness of the world’s complexities. Stories like Thor’s thunderous battles, Loki’s clever mischief, and Odin’s deep wisdom provide rich opportunities for students to explore themes of strength, morality, and transformation.
By stepping into these timeless stories, students not only develop their dramatic and artistic skills but also deepen their understanding of human nature and the rhythms of life. Come share in this powerful and playful exploration of myth and meaning—we can’t wait to see you there!

We’re proud to celebrate the incredible work of WSOC’s High School Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car Team, who are advancing to the State Championship on April 6 in San Pedro, CA!
This dedicated group of students has spent the year designing and building a high-performance, hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle from the ground up. Combining creativity, engineering, and teamwork, the team focused on maximizing efficiency and performance while embracing cutting-edge clean energy technology.
Their car is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system that converts hydrogen into electricity through an electrochemical reaction — emitting only water vapor as a byproduct. The students designed and assembled every part of the vehicle, from its lightweight aerodynamic frame to the precise drivetrain and electronic systems that make it race-ready.
This project is not just about competition — it’s a hands-on exploration of renewable energy and sustainable innovation, and a shining example of what happens when passion meets purpose.

Our campus came alive with the vibrant sounds, sights, and flavors of cultures from around the world as we celebrated our second International Friendship Day! From a mesmerizing Ballet Folklórico performance to the powerful rhythms of Korean drummers, Bavarian dancers, Polynesian traditions, and a mariachi band, our students experienced the beauty of global heritage firsthand.
We were also honored to have performances representing Persia, India, and California’s First People from the Cahuilla Heritage, each sharing their unique and rich traditions. The celebration extended beyond the stage, as our school community came together to provide an incredible cultural feast, with families sharing beloved dishes from around the world.
This event was a true reflection of our commitment to global awareness, unity, and the joy of cultural exchange. Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable day possible!

At our Waldorf school, 8th grade is a year of transformation—both in personal growth and in learning! As students dive into the theme of Revolutions in History, they explore the bold ideas and pivotal figures who shaped the world.
One of their artistic projects? Pastel drawings of the Founding Fathers. Through this creative process, they connect deeply with the ideals of leadership, change, and resilience that defined the American Revolution. The soft, layered textures of pastels allow students to bring historical figures to life while reflecting on the struggles and triumphs of those who fought for independence.
By combining history and art, Waldorf education nurtures both intellect and imagination, helping students engage with the past in a meaningful way—one that sparks curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

Three Kings Day - Today marks the end of the Christmas season, commemorating the moment when the three wise men first met the newborn Jesus in the manger.

In the enchanting world of childhood, a lantern walk with loved ones and friends fills the heart with light and creates memories that last forever.
Last Friday, in honor of Día de Los Muertos, @cetysuniversidadmxl students prepared a beautiful and reverent altares paying homage to friends and family who have passed.
Each item on the altares was specifically and symbolically selected to invite loved ones in the spirit world to participate in a day of celebration among the living - including photographs, salt, fresh fruits, chocolate and coffee.
Thank you to all of those who together created this beautiful opportunity for the community to honor their loved ones.

WSOC celebrated Halloween with a parade of costumes including students, faculty and staff. The creativity of all those who celebrated was something else this year.
Every year, our high school teachers surprise and delight us with their costume theme. Greek Mythology came to life yesterday on campus, can you guess the characters?
